Allen showed up this morning with his latest political progeny in tow: one Austen Furse, of late best known as a policy adviser to the failed county judge insurgency of Charles Bacarisse.
Aside from guaranteeing that our mailboxes will be filled with hundreds of the cookie-cutter template pushcards that always emanate from Blakemore campaigns, Furse's entry also appears to have reunited Allen with his former underling Lex Luther...er...Court Koenning.
Stay tuned, faithful Legionnaires. Strange happenings are afoot at the Hall of Doom...UPDATE
New details are filtering out from the hinterlands about SD 17. Chris Elam encountered Mr. Furse with Lex in tow down in Fort Bend, and also speculates that a well funded candidate may be itching to announce for the seat. Could this be Joan Huffman as rumored, who parked a domain name with a local political consulting firm last week?
And speaking of parked domains, it appears that Allen is primed to go live with a site for his new candidate - www.austenfurse.org, .net, and .com were registered to one Allen Blakemore on March 24th, though nothing seems to be online yet.
